Run, run, run…

So two days ago I didn’t go to the gym.  I skipped it.  We went shopping all day and then had dinner at my bubby’s dad’s house.  It was a delicious dinner!  We had a chicken and veggie soup with some slices of bread.  It was a good day overall.  We set up our apartment and things are going well.

Although yesterday, I made the most delicious dinner!  I made butternut squash, sweet potato lasagna.  It was to die for! Thanks to how sweet it is. ❤  My bubby loved it he couldn’t get enough.  Although after one piece i was SO stuffed  it could easily serve 4 people for dinner.

I also made it to the gym yesterday! YAY!  I ran 3 miles and did some stretching and ab workout.  I should have lifted weights but I was just so hot and tired after the 3 mile run…. maybe next time.

For breakfast today I had a pear and half of an english muffin with strawberry jam. YUMMY

Confession:  I bought ice cream.  Maine Blueberry by Giffords.  I have NEVER seen it for sale at a grocery store and its my FAVORITE ice cream.  So I crumbled and bought some.   My bad.


Three days in…

I have been doing OK with my diet.  Yesterday I ate Kashi Cinnamon something… They are like frosted mini wheat but Kashi uses whole grain and they do not frost their wheat clusters.  I had some RSBT free organic 1% milk with that as well.  Then for lunch I did well and had a slice of leftover goat cheese, spinach and onion pizza with a banana.  Before it became dinner time I of course had to snack on some roasted red hummus and multigrain pita chips.  Then for dinner I had a cold tortellini salad with tomatoes and a light dressing along with a bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and rasins.  UGH.   I ate more than I should have.  Its so hard tho.  I just need to keep trying and train my stomach to not crave so much food.

Today I am going to the gym! I have to because I didn’t do any exercise yesterday.  This morning I had some more oatmeal with brown sugar.  Lunch I am going to have a spring mix salad with some croutons, goat cheese, and dressing.  Possibly blueberries if they are still edible. haha  Tonight I am making Roasted Pork Tenderloin and apples!  It looks and sounds delicious.  I am also going to add a small salad on the side.  Yummy! I hope the boytoy likes it!

Hello world!

Today is the beginning!  I am just getting over a cold that I got from my honey bun, so I thought it was the perfect time to get going on my lifestyle change.  I have struggled with body image and weight like many young women have throughout their lives.  I don’t consider myself overweight but I do consider myself out of shape!  Although I would like to lose about 20 lbs.  But weight loss isn’t the only goal I have.  I really want to develop a healthy lifestyle that I can continue to follow for the rest of my life.

I have been getting ready to live this healthy life for the past year or so and it just hasn’t happened.  So I thought if i started a blog and kind of describe my daily work out/healthy diet choices it will motivate me to keep going.  I want to post recipes that I use as well as the work outs I am following so you all know how I am doing!  I would love advice/suggestions so feel free to give me advice.

Tonight I am waiting for my bubby to get out of work and then we are going to the gym together.  Then after I am going to make some goat cheese, carmalized onion pizza with whole wheat crust!  The recipe I am using is from  I might throw a little fresh spinach on the pizza as well, just for some fiber.

Goat Cheese Pizza

Goat cheese is one of the healthiest cheeses with out a lot of saturated fats.  Saturated fats are the worst type of fat for your health!  Any thing that is made of dairy products and is solid at room temperature is made of saturated fats.  Since goat cheese is slightly less solid at room temperature, you know it has a lower content of saturated fats.
